Dan, this is such a powerful and important post. Perhaps you might consider taking it out from behind the paywall because it’s the kind of thing that should be shared as far and wide as possible.

Hamas is embedded in civilian locations deliberately putting their own people at risk, school kids, hospital patients, homes and school yards. It's one of many examples that I think demonstrate political Democide of their own citizens.

The fact that IDF has flattened a large part of Gaza with relatively so few civilian casualties is amazing! I suspect it attests to their warning system and policy of moving communities out of high risk combat areas.

Israel is behaving better than most 'Christian' nations and that's why they angry.

Maximizing Palestinian civilian casualties is the purpose of Hamas operations. It’s their only card.

I think it’s important to remember that HAMAS is not essentially separate from the rest of Gazans. Women birth babies to give to this cause, with pride.

As always thank you defending Israel is no easy task because of the hate & death threats it attracts. The Jews have always been grateful for those who defend them because those who do are so few & far between.

My intuitive understanding of the deepest reasons for this hypocrisy is that it originates in a rejection of the moral God of Judeo-Christianity, the God who won't let you do whatever you want. This is a burden on under-evolved humanity. Evolution needs time. Without the Judeo-Christian ideas, Nazism , Communism and Islamism are possible, all of them totalitarian regimes, where indeed the few who rule are deified and get to do whatever they want. In the profound philosophical and religious conundrum of which is better for the global masses, free will or obedience , we might wake up to realise with horror that the obsession with globalisation was only a step before all identities are erased and all are dominated and subservient to authoritarian regimes. It's where Communism and Islamism meet. At the risk of sounding obscurantist, I would say that the intuition of " the anti-Christ" of global godless domination might not be a prophetic impulse of allegorical fanaticism.

Returning to the specific Israel response to 10/7 and the immoral condemnation by a guilty world, two ideas stick out: Israel has brilliantly demonstrated how capable it is of fighting surgically against definite military targets very recently in Iran. From which follows that if Israel cannot more precisely identify which are civilians and which are terrorists, it is because it cannot be done. Secondly, Hamas has said it themselves: we, Westerners, love Life. It's even in the American Declaration of Independence. Providence endowed us with Life as an inalienable right. Not so on Islamist- or basic Islamic- ideology. They proudly announce that they choose death and the massive death of their children in order to kill Jews, and in general, to serve their understanding of " Allah's will". Deuteronomy , instead, says " Choose Life". In Yahya Sinwar 's words, as per testimony of Yuval Bitton, head of the Israeli Intelligence Division of the Prison Service , " I Asked Sinwar, Is It Worth 10,000 Innocent Gazans Dying? He Said, Even 100,000 Is Worth It". ( Haaretz). There is also a video. This is why so many Gazans are dead. Because Hamas wants them dead. And so do Qatar and Iran. The West's useful idiots are blind, voluntarily, to the most crass realities. That makes them accomplices.

Thanks so much for this clearly argued article and putting into words what I have been trying to explain to all and sundry. Hope it has a wide readership. Perhaps you should consider sending it to widely read newspapers.

Thank you Dan for following the advice of a paid subscriber and making this article available. Perhaps the leaders of all the countries and states identified in this essay need a copy sending to them? Might just jog their memories...?

Tremendous. Sending it to the Digital Iron Dome. By the way, one can upload independently. It goes to millions of media and publications. I am getting a training lesson to be able to upload " ammunition" myself, as it comes my way.

I read somewhere that WW2 had a ratio of 9 civilians killed for every combatant, and that, in Gaza, Israel has kept it to 1:1.
