All someone has to do is read what you write and they wouldn’t have to question your past, but it’s nice to know more about you. Thank you for your transparency and your love for other Christians and humanity as a whole.
I don't think it's at all unnecessary. He could have banged on about all this stuff a long time ago but he chose not to. For many people, credentials are important for someone's work to be validated in their eyes. I have never judged anyone on credentials, taking all Danny's writing at face value, but perhaps more people will now take his work seriously where perhaps they didn't before.
I rarely talk about my own credentials to any of my students, but on a few occasions, where someone is questioning my advice aggressively and implying that I'm not qualified to teach them, rendering themselves unteachable in the process, I have been known to give them the low down, just so they will accept my help! I detest doing it because my teaching should speak for itself.
Danny is simply responding to some of the feedback he receives online. I don't for one moment think that he actually wanted to do this.
